Cabin John, MD (February 13, 2025) – RAZ Mobility (www.razmobility.com) released an update to the award-winning RAZ Memory Cell Phone. The update provides caregivers the ability to prevent individuals with dementia from repeatedly calling the same contact within a short period of time.
The RAZ Memory Cell Phone is designed to help seniors stay connected with family and friends after they have difficulty using standard phones. The Phone is used by seniors experiencing cognitive decline, vision loss, hand tremors, and those who require a simple experience. It provides an easy-to-use experience for seniors and allows caregivers to manage the phone from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada through the RAZ Care mobile app, which caregivers download onto their personal device.
The RAZ Memory Cell Phone’s new feature addresses a common problem: individuals with dementia sometimes call the same person many times within a short period of time, forgetting that they just called. The feature, called “Control repetitive calling” allows the caregiver to limit the number of calls that the user can make to a contact during a specified length of time, say one hour, providing relief from the repetitive calling. For example, the caregiver can set a rule that the senior can call a contact no more than five times during any one-hour period. If the senior calls the contact a sixth time, they will hear an audio announcement explaining that the contact is unavailable. The caregiver can record the announcement or use an announcement offered by RAZ Mobility.
