PREDICTABLE AAC

Predictable’s self-learning word prediction helps users to quickly and accurately construct sentences. Predictions are shown in a bubble which moves along with the text, a static strip above the keyboard, or both! The word prediction learns from speech history and becomes personalized to start predicting the things that users say.

Autocomplete lets users easily add words with fewer keystrokes, autocorrect fixes typos, and spell check highlights words it doesn’t recognize.

Who it is for:

People who aren’t able to speak but are able to type messages out. Predictable is primarily keyboard based, and is most suitable for older children and adults who are unable to speak. A lot of the voice and phrase banking features are designed to help people with degenerative conditions, so that they can store a part of their voice before it is lost.

USE THE APP TO SPEAK

Use the keyboard to type out the word to say, and the app will read your message using one of a range of voices. Word prediction and autocomplete features let you get your message across more quickly, and the app includes a range of emotion sounds to use.

SEND MESSAGES & STAY CONNECTED

Use Predictable to send emails, iMessages, and tweets. Connect to the internet using an in-app browser and keep up to date with headlines, retrieving a newsfeed from one of a selection of media outlets.

SAVE MESSAGES

Store longer messages in your phrasebank to reduce time and effort in conversation. Your speech history is also stored, so you don’t have to retype messages you’ve spoken before.

RETAIN PART OF YOUR VOICE

Predictable is compatible with ModelTalker, which allows you to make a synthesized version of your own voice. If you don’t want to make an entire voice, you can bank mp3 or wav recordings inside the app, storing a copy of your voice saying the things that matter most to family and friends.

ACCESS OPTIONS

Predictable is switch accessible, and has touch anywhere access so that you can use the screen as a switch. Compatible with Bluetooth keyboards, you can save hotkeys to control the app more easily from an external keyboard, and there’s many options for the onscreen keyboard including a 10 key keyboard (large buttons), or an apple keyboard (giving you access to third party keyboards, with features such as swipe access).

CLOUD BACKUP

Settings changes and new phrases saved on Predictable are automatically and securely sent to the cloud. Users easily access their personal settings, content and features, no matter which of their personal devices they are using, by signing in. You will never need to backup again.

STAP PROGRAM INFO

The Texas Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) helps people who have a disability that interferes with their access to telecommunications service purchase basic specialized assistive equipment or services.

To apply for a STAP voucher to receive Predictable for free, follow the instructions and fill out the applications provided here. Select “SGD level 1” under Device Options on page 2 of the application.
