My husband purchased me an Apple iPhone SE, not realizing how much accessibility depended upon manual gestures vs. voice control. I have significant nerve damage in my fingers and could not make the phone work for me. I researched phones for the blind, and the MiniVision 2+ cell phone really stood out. I needed assistance from customer service to set up voicemail and give me some detail about some of the functions. Customer service is very patient and provides thorough answers to questions. I can use my voice and/or the keypad to perform all the functions important to me. I am so happy I found this phone.

This review is based on the product, not our particular situation. The product itself is amazing and quite functional. I can’t imagine which additional feature would even be possible. Unfortunately, in our case, we are unable to use the device at all despite repeated attempts. Note, this is not the fault of the design, it is a function of my father’s loss of sight and parallel loss of tactile sensation in his fingers. He simply cannot feel the buttons, and he is unable to follow the multiple layers of audio commands at his advanced age (87 years) and limited hearing level. So, if you are managing a single issue, I think you cannot go wrong with this product, but if you are managing multiple disabilities, it may not work well for you. Just hope this review assists those who may fall in the later group.

We purchased this phone for a functionally illiterate friend with some cognitive impairment. AT&T had given her an “upgrade” flip phone when 3G service was eliminated, but the device was pretty much unusable – keypad skipped / duplicated keystrokes, screen reader only verbalized *un*interesting portions of the display, and navigation was utterly inscrutable. Though the Minivision2’s price is far beyond her means, it is vastly superior to anything else we’ve been able to find, so we bought it for her.

In short, she loves it, although there have been a few minor problems along the way. (1) AT&T won’t provide a SIM for it, even using her old number, saying they will only support 5G-only devices. A PITA, but not the end of the world. This was the last straw that overcame her decades-long loyalty to AT&T, so she’ll use her new Mint number. (2) It would be nice to be able to configure the phone to automatically announce all incoming calls from known callers. (3) It would be nice to have a built-in “report SPAM” option for incoming texts. (4) We haven’t been able to find a way to block selected or unknown numbers on incoming calls and texts.

Still, this thing is a godsend!

I think this MiniVision2 phone has a lot of nice features. It is a nice size, the voice commands are quite clear and quite easy to use. One of the areas I would like to see improved is that when a message is left on voicemail the phone currently announces that there is a message. However, if you missed that message it would be very nice if there could be a beep that repeats at some interval until the message is viewed. It would be a nice feature if the notification could be turned on or off as well. Another area that could use improvement is when receiving phone calls the ring only lasts for 10 seconds. Unless the phone is on my person I am not able to answer the call before it goes to voicemail or a missed call. It would be nice if you could regulate how long the phone will ring, particularly if you have some mobility issues. A third item is that incoming calls do not identify the caller even it the number is in my address book. That is quite frustrating.

I purchased the mini vision 2+ for my daughter who has no vision. She really likes it. It’s easy to use and is the perfect phone for her.
Raz has impeccable customer service and we will continue to be loyal customers.

great phone! difculate to program, family helped. protective cover will not allow charging in cradel, also voice commands are very slow. thank you.

I haven’t had the MiniVision2 very long. Current review: I like the feel of the MiniVision2, the only key that gives me problems is the down cursor as my finger often touches the 2 key at the same time. I like the manual. I like the menu set up. After practicing how to speak carefully I can use the verbal way to call someone I have put in the contact list. So far I can’t get the MV2 to call using a new number. Re the back button, it takes a while to remember it deletes letters when you are in an edit box instead of going back a page.

the price scared me at first, but after learning about the 3g going away i figured i would bite the bullet and give this phone a try. i love it! it’s so much faster then my flip phone was especially for texting. the voice to speech works better then advertized. i’m 55 years old and this is the first phone i have ever had where i really have full control over every single thing on the phone. i got this phone 2 weeks ago and i must say, i’m not getting the battery life that others have bragged about. i guess maybe i’m on my phone to much. i can’t say enough how happy i am with this phone.

This phone really has outstanding features for the seeing impaired, particularly for those who are still capable of learning to operate such a phone. My mom is 91 and has zero sight at this point. However, she is not capable at her age and mental capacities to take advantage of the wonderful features this device offers. I would highly recommend the phone for those who remain of sound mind enough to enjoy the benefits available from the various features on the MiniVision 2 Phone.

I purchased the MiniVision2 for my wife, who has been blind since childhood, and she has progressed nicely in learning its functionality. In the short time she has used it, she has mastered the feature of sending a text message by using voice commands; a feature she has longed for that were lacking in other cell phones she has owned over the years. In addition, she likes the fact that the phone’s voice feature announces incoming calls and text messages. She is looking forward to many more years of service.

I tried to use Tracfone as the service provider, but ran into a stumbling block in getting the service activated. After 4½ hours of trying, I used the Mint Mobile SIM card that came with the phone and within an hour the service was activated and my wife was using the phone.
