TippyTalk EDU is a leading AAC solution that uses picture-to-text technology that allows for Instant two-way assistive communication.

TippyTalk EDU is an assistive communication tool that allows a person with a nonverbal learning disorder to communicate by translating customized images into text messages, which are then sent to a family member or anyone else. The family member or other individual can then respond using text, images or voice.

Our solution allows a person living with a verbal disability to communicate by translating customized pictures into personalized text messages, which are then sent to a family member or care giver’s phone or tablet. TippyTalk allows you, the parent or caregiver, to capture images that are uniquely identifiable and familiar to the person living with the verbal disability. You simply take a picture of an object, place, or person and apply the appropriate text. You can also reinforce language development by recording your voice over each picture insuring the person living with the disability will recognize and understand the message.

Communication through TippyTalk EDU is not restricted by distance. The person living with the verbal disability can communicate with whomever they chose no matter where they may be in the world.

TippyTalk is unique in that it removes the person with the verbal disability from the limitations of same room communication and by doing so increases and promotes communication, independent choice, and provides a platform for social inclusion, while also reducing the frustration for the person and the entire support network.

The TippyTalk EDU solution includes access to a web-based portal designed for SLPs, OTs and other professionals working with the nonverbal student. The portal provides unparalleled insight into the growth and development of the student using TippyTalk EDU.

Language Development

TippyTalk EDU uses a core vocabulary as a base for the introductory stage, but can but made more or less complex depending on the individual’s needs.

Cloud based

TippyTalk EDU is a web-based application and stores all data within the cloud. This means you will NEVER lose your history, vocabulary and images that have been created.

Cross-Compatibility

You will be able to send messages to iOS and Android devices, even though TippyTalk EDU will be installed on an iPad.

STAP PROGRAM INFO

The Texas Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) helps people who have a disability that interferes with their access to telecommunications service purchase basic specialized assistive equipment or services.

To apply for a STAP voucher to receive TippyTalk Edu for free, follow the instructions and fill out the applications provided here. Select “SGD level 1” under Device Options on page 2 of the application.

Voucher Application

According to STAP, it can take up to 150 days before an application is processed. You can find more details about the application process at the STAP website.
